were blooming
everywhere we planted them
at the old place
the fresh hedge and start
contrasting with the deer fence
and then the roses
commemorating anything
birthdays, fathers day
love in many forms
they're all blooming
even though we're gone
and no one tends them
planted by us
perpetuated by the rain, earth,
and their own responsiveness
to the green urge of growing
